The People Are Rising Up Against Big Banks

For the last three days, protesters have been protesting the American Bankers Association annual meeting, demanding that the Banksters stop foreclosures and put a stop to the outrageous bonuses that the big banks are paying with our money.

This is a true grassroots protest and thousands of people have gone to Chicago to have their voices heard. This is truly an outrageous action by the banks, who have shamelessly taken taxpayer dollars and continued to rip off American taxpayers by increasing interest rates on credit cards, finding ways to charge more fees and various other ways of ripping American consumers.

This has to stop.

People still don't realize just how much of a strangle hold banks and Wall St. have on us. It will take the action of an FDR to change things.

People sure do know the strangle hold gov't. has over things. And thanks to our Nut in Cheif, Obama we are being more inslaved by our gov't every day. Thanks to you guys for voting for them.

Chris, I don't understand how you can always be so wrong. What you don't seem to realize is that if we are being enslaved by anyone, it's corporate America and the big banks and they're doing it with our money.

These greedy bastards are using our money to give themselves massive bonuses and lobby our legislators with tax payer money.

You don't have a problem with that?

At least some of the Democrats are trying to do something about it, but you seem to be with the Republicans who are okay with all of this, am I right?

Well of course Chris doesn't have any examples of how we're being "inslaved" (sic) by Obama. That's because it's not happening.

You remember when conservatives said that not trusting in your government meant that you wanted the terrorists to win? When they were fine with torture and warrantless wiretapping and thought that all the liberals were just complaining about the violation of civil liberties that we have under the Constitution because we hate America?

I do.

Bruce, I'd just ignore the trolls if I were you. They don't add anything productive.

Chris - djtyg had it right - under Bush you on the Right thought everything he did in the name of our government was OK with you. I don't agree with everything Obama is doing either - but on his worst day he is 100 times better than Bush. And you bet, I have emailed the White House & my members of Congress more than once expressing my disapproval on one issue or another. The difference between you on the Right and the rest of us - we don't give anyone a "blank check" on policies.

It is sad that you cannot differentiate between the strangle hold big business has on us and the laws and regulations of our government. That is the result of a civilized society imposing rules on itself for the good of all. My biggest complaint about government is the unholy control business has over the democratic processes within its purview.
