ROYAL OAK -- Like the rush for a hot rock concert, 1,000 free tickets for a town hall meeting with Sen. Barack Obama were snatched up in an hour Saturday.

The Oakland County Democratic Party office in Royal Oak released the tickets beginning at 10 a.m. for the Monday event, but by 11 a.m., at least 500 people were turned away, said Bruce Fealk with the county party office. Some ticket seekers stood in a downpour, lining up outside theoffice for tickets. Party officials were to distribute tickets Sunday, but that give-away was canceled, Fealk said. "They're all gone. There are no more tickets," he said.

Obama will visit Troy High School on Northfield Parkway for a meeting that is to focus on economic issues. CLICK HERE to read the rest of the story.
